The WildBees are a global network of volunteers who use 3D printing technology to support Ukraine's
defense efforts against the russian invasion. This grassroots movement, which started in 2022, has grown
into an international organization with branches in multiple countries, including Poland, Sweden,
USA/Canada, Germany, and Latvia. The group's volunteers use their personal 3D printers to produce a
variety of items for the Ukrainian military, such as drone parts, periscopes, grenade casings, and
protective equipment.
Joining the WildBees as a volunteer is straightforward for anyone with a 3D printer and a desire to
support Ukraine. The main requirements include having a 3D printer, filament, and the ability to follow
detailed printing instructions. Volunteers are responsible for producing items based on provided designs,
shipping them to collection points and funding the process themselves. While the financial commitment
can vary, the most crucial elements are access to a 3D printer, dedication of time and resources, and
adherence to quality standards. For those unfamiliar with 3D printing, the Team is full of knowledgeable
volunteers who enjoy helping others get started.
